Embassy Elegance in Washington, DC

Washington, DC is a city known for its boulevards lined with elegant townhomes, many of them former private mansions now put to official use. One such building, the Beaux Arts mansion, was built in the late nineteenth century for a wealthy heiress. Converted into an embassy in the early twentieth century, it had been divided into offices when the current owners purchased it in 2003; fortunately, its structure and detailing were still largely intact. Barry worked closely with the owners and their architects to return the building to its original grandeur.
