Woodland Glade

The owners of this home, located in a wooded glen in eastern Virginia, are enamored with the Arts and Crafts movement and wanted their home to reflect hand craftsmanship and attention to detail as well as a residence that would be in harmony with its setting. Barry immediately understood what to do, he looked outside and used nature for his inspiration – choosing a woodsy palette of clay and stone, warm bark and leafy greens, and the pale, misty skylight glimpsed through the canopy overhead. Ferns, vines and leaves from the forest floor were also translated into motifs for the interiors.
