Barry Darr Dixon

Inspired by acres of lush Virginia countryside, Barry Dixon is known for a distinct aesthetic that blends Western styles with global influences from a childhood spent abroad in India, Pakistan, Korea, New Caledonia and South Africa. With projects spanning the world, Dixon imagines interiors that infuse artifacts and antiques with present-day motifs – all preserving the history and personality of the home’s owners and their treasures. His exclusive collections include furniture, lighting and accessories for Arteriors; showroom design and products for Fortuny; custom furniture and lighting for Avrett; fabrics and trims for Vervain; upholstery for Tomlinson; and The Naturals Color Collection by Barry Dixon for C2 Paint. This year, Barry will introduce his first collection of wallcoverings with Vervain.

Dixon’s work is featured in Barry Dixon Interiors and Farrow & Ball: The Art of Color, both by Brian Coleman (author) and Edward Addeo (photographer) and  Barry Dixon Inspirations and Fortuny Interiors, both by Brian Coleman (author) and Erik Kvalsvik (photographer). Dixon lives and works in his 1907 Edwardian estate, Elway Hall, located on over 300 acres of farmland in the heart of Fauquier County, Virginia’s horse country.

OUR GOAL IS TO CREATE BEAUTIFUL AND FUNCTIONAL SPACES THAT EXCEED CLIENT EXPECTATIONS.

Every client is different, every space is different — we take the time to listen to our clients goals, likes, inspirations and experiences and then pull it all together to create a custom designed home interior. In addition, we work with builders and architects to ensure extra special design elements are included throughout the living space.

WE ARE A GLOBAL DESIGN FIRM.

Our headquarters are located in the Virginia countryside and we serve a number of clients throughout the United States. In addition, we have a significant international presence (due to Barry spending much of his childhood living abroad) and frequently travel to clients located all over the world.

“Inspiration is Everywhere — It lives in the memory of our past, the vibrancy of our present and the possibility of our future … It lurks in foreign ports of call and waits patiently in our own backyard.”

~Barry Dixon

Elway Hall

More than just a home, Elway Hall is a living canvas that pays tribute to Barry’s creative visions. The 1907 Edwardian estate sits just outside the historic town of Warrenton, Virginia on 300 acres of lush rolling hills. Picturesque both outside and within, here time seems to slow and the worries of the world are at bay. Inside, every room tells a story, entreating you to stop and stay awhile.

Tour Inside Elway Hall

Dinah

The ever-present monarch of Elway Hall, Dinah lovingly meets, greets, and entertains like no other — and a practiced socialite, has an intuitive knack of inserting herself into as many photographs as possible. The Wire Fox Terrier is inquisitive, intelligent, energetic — and above all uniquely personable. A steadfast companion to Barry, she happily reflects the charming mannerisms of her owner.
